There are different ways to join the PSA

— Elections for 2024-2025 are now OPEN until March 25! —

Psychology Student Committees

The PSA allows all members –general or board– to work with us on projects. We have spent a lot of time building up our skill sets, and we want to be able to share our experience and knowledge with others!

If you’re interested in learning how to build a social media presence, how to host and develop events or programming, or how to work with students, we have opportunities for you. Gain experience working with either the Communications or Outreach committees.

Students have two different ways to join the Psychology Students’ Association. Running in our yearly elections for an elected office, or by becoming a general member.

General Membership

Students can become general members of the PSA if they are a psychology major, a psychology minor, or are currently enrolled in 3 credit hours in psychology (one psychology class). Benefits of membership include:

  • The opportunity to vote in elections
  • A way to find support or resources for your own ideas through collaborating with the PSA to make your plans a reality!
  • Committee membership options: Get involved in your campus community! Gain experience and skills working on one of our committees. Grow your ideas, get involved, and build the confidence to run for an elected office 😉
  • Access to programming, community, and resources that speak to your needs and interests.

To become a general member, go to Universe, hosted by URSU and request to join the group if you fit the above criteria. That’s it!

Elected Office — OPEN NOW

PSA elections are held in the Winter semester every year. All positions must be applied for every year. All general members are entitled to vote in the election, and any general member can run for any position so long as they can fulfill the nomination requirements. By-elections are held when elected positions become empty.
